Professional Currency Requirements

New applicants registering as general registrants with CDHPEI, as well as general registrants renewing their registration, must demonstrate currency of professional knowledge and skills.

All applicants and renewing CDHP members must have completed one of the following within three (3) years preceding application or renewal:

  • Successfully completed the education requirements;
  • Actively practised in the profession of dental hygiene without restrictions for at least 600 hours; or
  • Completed a refresher program satisfactory to the Registrar of the College.

Approved refresher programs:

Those applying as Labour Mobility Transfer registrants do not have to demonstrate this requirement at the time of application. However, registrants will need to demonstrate the currency requirement upon renewal at which time they become regular general registrants of CDHPEI.
